NOBBTSC Membership Meeting Minutes 7-06-07
Meeting was called to Order by President Steven Melancon at 8:05PM with 25
members present.
President’s Report: Steven presented the following standards for the Club to
consider, in light of some recent events:
All members are expected to act in a socially acceptable manner at all
times during Bear gatherings and functions.
a. Socially acceptable manner is different at different venues. Example:
gay bar vs. Family restaurant.
b. Members and officers should always be respectful to any member or
officer.
No member is allowed to represent the Club without the Club’s expressed
permission.
It may be time to review and possibly update our bylaws.
Old Business:
BNO at Chevy’s
a. A suggestion had been made to submit an article to the Ambush
Magazine. We missed the deadline for the next issue. Should we still pursue an
article in Ambush Magazine? Motion was made by Vic V. and 2nd by Don M, to
“let it drop.” Vote was 20 in favor and 2 against, motion carried,
b. Investigation of legal opportunities; Steven had written to 8 local
Firms and spoken to two. Both of those spoken to agreed that what the manager
did was excessive but not enough to sue.
c. Response from Regional Manager: Motion was made by Sonny C.
and 2nd by Mike M., that Chevy’s should donate money to Project
Lazarus. The amount of donation should be $100 for each of the 24
people removed. Vote was 13 for and 2 against the motion, motion
carried. Another motion was then made by Fred M. and 2nd by Don
M. that further action on this matter should await the response from
Chevy’s Regional Manager. This motion carried by acclaimation.
d. Because of these events at the BNO, two members have resigned
from the Club, of their own volition.
The Teddy Bear Collection will be at the October meeting. Several
Members expressed concerns about not knowing where the bears would
be going.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the previous meeting can be found on the website,
www.neworleansbears.com or www.bearsofneworleans.com. They can also be
found in the newsletter. Motion was made to dispense with the reading of the
Minutes by Vic V, and 2nd by Don M. Motion carried by acclaimation.
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Danny Lecompte, in the absence of
Treasurer George Tresch. An audit of the books has been called by Treasurer
George. It will take place most likely at the first Board Meeting after Southern
Decadence.
Vice President’s Report was presented by Danny Lecompte.
Lieutenant’s Report: Tibby and Bryan reported on the Beer Bust for our last

The Media Update was presented by Editor Tibby, and Webmaster Eddie P.
