NOBBTSC Membership Meeting Minutes 3-02-07
Meeting called to Order by President Steven Melancon at 8:07PM.
There were 25 members and 7 guests present.
Minutes for the February meeting can be found in the Newsletter and on
the website, www.neworleansbears.com .
The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Treasurer George Tresch
(yes…King George of AmonRa fame). Report was accepted by motion
made by Danny L. and 2nd by Tibby T.
The Lieutenant’s Report was given by Lieutenant Jon Harrison. Topics
covered were the Bears Night Out at Chevy’s on Feb 10th and the
Bears on Parade (picnic and parade watch) Feb 11th. Lieutenant Tibby
Thibodeaux reported on the “Tunes” event at La Petite Theatre on
March 1st. All of these events were lots of fun.
The Vice President’s Report was presented by Danny LeCompte, Vice
President. Danny spoke about the Bears & Bubbles event on Feb 19th
at Sweet Olive B&B and the Bear Bust NOBBTSC hosted at the
Phoenix later that night. Another couple of events that were great fun.
Danny also read a letter from the William J. Fanning Foundation,
thanking NOBBTSC for our annual contribution and for donation of
funds raised at the Dec 31st BLOCK beer bust. (Letter attached to
minutes, and included in the newslater).
The Media Update was presented by Tibby T., Newsletter editor and
Eddie P., Website master. The Newsletter is complete this
month…with an insert of the missing pages from last months
letter…hehehe. The webmaster is attempting to create the “interactive
agenda” on the website. More on this later.
Final notification is being sent to all members who have not paid their
2007 dues. Some members have contacted us with their desire to not
renew membership. These steps are being taken to improve
participation and brotherhood within our Club.
The Bear Backer Awards certificates are finally ready to be given out.
Thanks to Wayne C. for donation of the lovely frames.
“Legalization of the Club” was discussed. We currently bank under a
federally approved 501C7 account. Our trade names are registered
with the State of Louisiana. We will be registering our logo very soon.
Treasurer George Tresch assured the Club that NOBBTSC is a legal
entity with the Federal government.
UPCOMING EVENTS:

located at 1530 Lapalco Blvd, on the Westbank. This will be at 7PM, as
usual.
St. Patrick’s Day parade will be (of course) March 17th. NOBBTSC will
be meeting (as usual) at Cutter’s bar near the corner of Royal and
Franklin. 6PM-ish would be a good time to get there…parking is
sometimes difficult.

Friday of the month. Host and location will be posted on the website.
NOBBTSC semi-annual Bake Sale will be held Sunday, April 1st, 2007
(no fooling). This is (as usual) Palm Sunday. Location: Cutter’s
Bar…near corner of Royal and Franklin Avenues. Time: 9AM until all
the stuff is gone J.
The next Bears meeting and Beer Bust will be April 6th, 2007, at the

The April Bears Night Out will be on April 14th at Five Happiness on
Carrollton Avenue in Midcity. This also will be at 7PM.
NOBBTSC annual Anniversary Party, this year, will be in the form of a

If you wish something to eat besides the above, bring your OWN meat
J. The date will be April 21st from 2PM to 6PM at George Tresch’s
home on Spain Street (same location as the past two years.) Please
bring a side dish of your choice. Since we are inviting all the other gay
clubs in New Orleans, we are asking donations of $10 for non-

Southern Decadence is approaching faster than any of us wish to think
about. The Sire Ursus 2007 contest will be held at our annual Banquet
