NOBBTSC Membership Meeting Minutes 10-05-07
Meeting was called to Order by President Steven Melancon at 8:05PM. 22 members were
present.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes can be found in the NewsLetter and on our websites www.
neworleansbears.com and www.bearsofneworleans.com . Reading of the minutes was
suspended by motion made by Vic V. and 2nd by Tibby T.
Treasurer’s Report: Report was presented by Treasurer George Tresch. Report was
approved by motion made by Vic V. and 2nd by Tibby T.
Vice President’s Report: Presented by Danny Lecompte, VP. He reported on the
Casablanca Night fundraiser hosted by Project Lazarus.
Lieutenants’ Report: Tibby T. and Bryan L. reported on the activities of the past month,
which included the Bear’s Night Out (9-15) at Elizabeth’s; the NO/AIDS Taskforce Walk (9-
16) at Audubon Park; Krewe of Armeinius fundraiser at Le Petite Theatre’s presentation of
“Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”; 3rd Friday Beerbust (9-17); and Crescent City Outlaws
Run cocktail party that NOBBTSC hosted (9-29).
Media Updates: NewsLetter: Tibby T., “send me articles for the newsletter!” Webmaster:
Eddie P. “nothing new” (Secretarial comments: nothing new except the continued excellent
job performance by these two gentlemen!!!)

Bears Night Out:
a) October 13, 2007 Five Happiness at 7PM (by vote of membership)
b) November 10, 2007 Jack Dempsey’s Restaurant (Poland Ave).
Bears Meet and Beer Bust
c) November 2, 2007 (Nominations for Officers) (per the bylaws, nominations can only
be accepted DURING this meeting, …does this mean we can not adjourn until we have at
least one nomination for each office???!!!).
d) December 7, 2007 (Election of Officers)
3rd Friday Beer Busts
e) October 19, 2007

Project Lazarus
h) Doorstop Project…a fundraiser held on Oct 6th.

Saturday, 10-27, the Sugarmill, costume party, theme “Wild Kingdom”
Sunday, 10-28, House of Blues
Bake Sale: November 18, 2007 in front of Chet’s Bar on Franklin Street 9AM until ?
(noonish). Also a 50/50 rummage sale will be with this event. Bring your castoff items
(NOT lovers), and when sold, you get 50%, the Club gets 50%.
Nominations for Officers: A discussion was held about this event. Several ideas were
discussed such as the order in which the nominations were made, should the media officers
be voting members of the board, etc. Several of these suggestions were tabled until the
new Board takes over in January, since most of the suggestions/comments require Bylaw
changes.
Birthdays and Anniversaries were announced.
Member announcements: David J. of Sweet Olive reminded the Club that there will be a
Bears Halloween Party on October 27th at the Sweet Olive from 4 to 7PM.
Treasurer George Tresch reported what NOBBTSC items were available for sale.
