Old Business:
Revisions of the Bylaws committee met on July 26th from 2pm until about 6pm.  A
lot was accomplished.  As a committee, they voted to incorporate the Bylaws, the
Code of Ethics and the Bear Facts into one document.  Great progress was made.
The final (hopefully) meeting will be held on Saturday, August 9th, at Lazarus
House from 3pm to 5pm (and then over to the Country Club for the Bears Night
Out).
Open Lieutenant position:  We had 4 member express interest in becoming more
involved with the Club by serving in this position.  Please keep this enthusiasm
because nominations for 2008 Officers will be in November.  The Board met and
selected Charles S. to fill this position.  Thanks to all who expressed interest in
this position.
The New Orleans AIDS Memorial:  We voted last month to purchase a “brick” for
this memorial.  At the Board meeting, we discussed the possibility of purchasing
more than one…but we were informed their was no way to ensure the placement
of these “bricks”.  We discussed what should be put on the “brick” and decided on
“The New Orleans Bears” as opposed to “NOBBTSC” as the former name is more
familiar to the community.

New Business:
Bake/Rummage Sale:  Historically, NOBBTSC has held a Bake Sale (and lately
added the Rummage sale part to it) just before Easter and just before
Thanksgiving.  Is there interest in doing this again in November?  Most present
agreed to hold it in November.  Location has usually been Cutter’s Bar on Franklin
Street.  Most present agreed on this location again. The date come up for
discussion.  Some wanted to hold it the Sunday before Thanksgiving, as we have
done in the past.  Others wanted it earlier in the month, when potential buyers
might have more money. Therefore, the date was tabled for the moment, to be
decided at our next meeting.
