Meeting called to order at 8:04pm by Steven Melancon, President with 21 members present.

Secretary’s Report:  Minutes for the 9-19-09 meeting can be found on our website, www.
bearsofneworleans.com  and in our Newsletter.  Motion was made by Vic V. and 2nd by Herb I. to
dispense with the reading of these minutes.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:  Financial statement was presented by George Tresch, Treasurer.  Motion to accept
report as presented was made by Vic V., and 2nd by Herb I. Motion carried.

Lieutenant’s Report:  Mike L. and Shawn L. reported on the activities of the Club for the past two weeks:
The cocktail party for the Crescent City Outlaw’s Run hosted by NOBBTSC on Sept. 27th.  The Club
received a plaque of appreciation from the Outlaws.
A letter of thanks has been received from the NO/AIDS Taskforce for the assistance NOBBTSC provided
during the AIDS Walk on Sept. 28th.

Media Updates:
Tibby, Editor of the Newsletter, requests that everyone please check with him if they are not receiving a
copy of the Newsletter in the mail.  Also, if you have any questions, please check with Tibby  to make
sure that all of your info is correct on our Club roster.
Website:  Eddie informed the Club, that the website is FULL!  He has two choices, a) to delete some of the
information and pictures already archived there to make room for more, or b) to upgrade with the host to
a larger bandwidth web hosting package.  Motion was made by Vic V. and 2nd by Shawn L. to upgrade the
package.  The cost of this upgrade would be approximately $60 a month or less.  Motion passed with a
vote of 12 for and 2 against.

Special Events/Activities:
The Bake/Rummage sale is scheduled for November 23, 2008 outside of Cutter's Bar on Franklin Street,
close to the corner of Royal St.  There was more discussion about this date, no Saints game being played
that day, closeness to Thanksgiving, too late in the month, etc.  By acclamation, the Club decided to
leave this date as is.

Old Business:
Revision of the Bylaws:  All documents have been sent to every member with the newsletter.  Vote
whether to pass the revisions will be held at the next membership meeting, November 7th.  A question
has been raised about allowing absentee voting.  After much discussion, motion was made by Danny L.
and 2nd by Mike M. to allow absentee voting, that must be postmarked by October 31st.  Motion carried
by a vote of 13 for, and 6 against. (Secretary’s note: Guys, I messed up.  In the proposed revisions,
Sections 1, 2 and 4 have already been approved by the membership earlier this year. I should have
included them in the current/old version of the Bylaws.  I apologize for any confusion this may have
caused.)

New Business:
Nomination for Office for the 2009 Board will be held at the November meeting. Under the current set of
Bylaws, this is the only time nominations can be accepted, and technically, the meeting cannot be
adjourned until there is at least one nomination for each position.  Please think about serving this Club
by possibly becoming one of it’s Officers.
A question was proposed about holding a New Year’s Eve Party.  (Wednesday, December 31, 2008).
